Complete Works of Banjo Paterson: Singer of the Bush 1885-1900 and Song of the Pen 1901-1941
The Singer of the Bush contains Paterson’s literary works up to his return from the Boer War. This is a companion volume to Song of the Pen, which covers the years 1901 to 1941. In both volumes, the works are presented in chronological order, according to date of publication, except for where publication was delayed. In these cases, they are included according to date of writing. This presentation provides an overview of Paterson’s work and allows the reader to see the changes and development in the writer’s themes and styles. Many of the line illustrations of Paterson’s poems and prose pieces are reproduced, as well as works from his own art collection, original manuscripts, and family memorabilia.
