Through a series of distinct black ink drawings, expressionistic paintings, and brief narrative fragments, Smith explores the unique, often gritty atmosphere of tropical North Queensland. The work reflects on regional Australian identity, coastal architecture, local characters, and the personal nostalgia of his youth.

Book Condition: Good to very good softcover, with exterior covers exhibiting minor edge wear and small marks on the inside, while the interior text block and plates remain entirely clean and unmarked. There is minor spotting (foxing) to the front endpaper and slight insect damage on the back endpaper, which is common for books stored in humid climates. However, the flaws are confined strictly to the blank endpapers, leaving the artwork and text completely unaffected.
