Notes from a Small Island

Before returning to America the author insisted on taking one last trip around Britain, his aim being to take stock of the nation’s public face and private parts (as it were), and to analyse precisely what it was he loved so much about Britain. Illustrated with a frontispiece colour photograph of the author’s boots socks and trousers, a black-and-white map showing the travels, and a number of colour plates in three sections.
