Secret Women’s Business: Hindmarsh Island Affair

These essays argue against the findings of the commission and in favour of the proponent women who made known the stories concerning women’s business and who have consistently maintained that cultural practice and secret knowledge remained unrecorded until the controversy broke in 1994/95. More narrowly the articles point to the failure of anthropology and ethnography.
