The Peoplescape: Celebrating Australians
The Peoplescape, the subject of this book summed up a special year in the life of Australia. It was the centenary of our federation. Every town, even a scatter of ghost towns, took part in this most decentralised and dispersed of celebrations. But the capital city, Canberra, was to sign off the year. Something distinctive had to be devised. The Peoplescape was the invention. Its merit was that in enthroned the people. How all of the events took place is told in this book.
