Georgian Architecture in Australia
$40.00
Georgian Architecture in Australia is a landmark photographic survey documenting Australia’s earliest European architectural heritage. Through Max Dupain’s iconic modernist photography, the book captures the clean lines, symmetry, and elegant proportions of surviving colonial buildings from the late 18th to mid-19th centuries across New South Wales and Tasmania.
Publisher: Ure Smith
Date Published: 1965
Book Condition: A solid reference copy. The hardcover boards show minor edge wear, and the binding remains secure. The dust jacket is structurally sound but shows age-related chipping and closed tears along the edges (now repaired), alongside old tape marks on the inside flaps and matching tape residue on the fixed endpapers (pastedowns). Internally, light foxing is present on the first five pages; however, the remaining text and Max Dupain’s photographic plates are entirely clean, crisp, and unmarked.
