Marlowe’s translation of Ovid’s Elegies is believed to date from his Cambridge period and is almost certainly the earliest of his writings that have survived. This edition is a page for page reprint of a copy in the Mason collection in the Bodleian Library. With decorations engraved on wood by John Nash. This is number 390 of 625 numbered copies.

Book Condition: Very good hardcover in a dust jacket showing some water affected staining to the bottom area and along the spine, with tears on the top and bottom edge of spine and outside corners, including some surface spotting and scuffing. There is some water staining to top and bottom of the front and back boards, with some chipping to corners. Some minor staining on the bottom edge of the inside of the front and back boards. There is some tanning to the front and back endpapers. Otherwise, the text is clean and the binding tight, with no water staining.
