Soyer’s Standard Cookery

$100.00

A record of a brief, yet significant moment in culinary history, that can be linked to the mid-century development of commercial and industrial “ready-to-cook’ meals in bags and some of the nouvelle cuisine techniques of the 1980s, particularly Bernard l’Oiseau’s Cuisine Vapeur. At the same time, Soyer’s Standard Cookery is an interesting and comprehensive example of British middle-class Edwardian domestic cookery.
